Arti Green were chosen by Timberland to fulfil their interior landscaping brief to help create the brands vision of nature and biophilic design for their Carnaby Street flagship store in London. When it comes to nature, Timberland have strong values and wanted to use natural materials to bring the outdoors in, so with a range of living walls, live trees, preserved moss walls and a moss and stone entrance floor under toughened glass, their designers were able to achieve the biophilic look in keeping with their brand image and their global 'Nature Needs Heroes' campaign to plant 50 million trees by 2025. The store has even won a Gold Design Award and was also named store of the year by the global trade association Shop! for it's dedication to enhancing the retail experience.
The designers wanted to use a mixture of live plants and preserved plants throughout the store with an impressive living wall filled with various green indoor plants.
To compliment the living wall, smaller live picture planted frames were installed in the changing rooms along with natural stone and moss floors in keeping with the main entrance floor, again under toughened glass to give the feeling of being outside whilst in the store.
Natural preserved moss and foliages were also installed to create a forest inspired column which creates a focal point that can be seen directly in the store window.
Perspex boxes were used throughout the store, filled with moss, preserved grasses and stones. A preserved bun moss wall also served as a natural product display back drop.
Live ficus trees were also placed throughout the interior adding lush greenery at height.
